IoT ecosystem consists of web-enabled smart devices that use embedded systems such as processing and communication devices, protocols and sensors to collect, transmit data and with the ability to initiate and perform certain actions based on data collected and pre-defined rules from different environments. The devices share the data collected by connecting to a gateway or central server where data is then analyzed and reported on. Sometimes, these devices have the ability to communicate with other related devices and act on the information they get from one another.
